2011 Unsung Hero Award Winner

William Taylor was the sixth recipient of the "Unsung Hero" award.  Bill was nominated by Linda Smith, the first grade teacher he has worked with for the last 14 years.  He has touched the lives of many.  Children look forward to seeing him and ask for his help.
Linda tells us:

"Upon his retirement he joined us twice a week and never stopped.  He has taught math, nurtured children, hiked, walked, colored with my children, he has paid for trips, gone on field trips, (and) played in the snow.  He has corrected reading tests, listened to reluctant readers, has done math and reading centers.  He never knows ahead of time what he will be doing but he always welcomes it with an attitude unsurpassed by none.  He has been my wing man for so many years that recently he said he'll be here until I retire.  He cannot be replaced and no one will ever take his place.  If there is anyone who deserves this award it is him."

Thank you Bill for representing all of VIPS volunteers so well by your exceptional service to Linda Smith and her students for so many years!  You truly have done everything a volunteer possibly could!  This plaque will remain at the Juniper Park School this year as a reminder of your contribution to our schools.
